Feeling hot, hot, hot...

Arrived safely in Bangkok at around 5pm local time after an 11 hour flight. All very smooth and incident-free, including getting our visas correctly stamped at immigration. We were met by a member of staff from the VSO office in Bangkok, who drove us to a hotel near the office. There are three of us all starting similar placements, as Early Years Development Advisers - myself, Kozue and Bethan. We will be together for the first month of training, before going off to our separate placements. We have a couple of days of briefings here in Bangkok, and then on Sunday we transfer to Bang Saen, just down the coast in Chonburi province, for 4 weeks of very intensive Thai language training.
Time for bed, I think. 9.00am briefing tomorrow.
(P.S. Weather very hot and humid. Nice to be able to walk outside at 9pm in a t-shirt and feel grateful for the breeze!!)

  1. This certainly is an improvement on the days when an airmail letter took 2 weeks to arrive, and you waited another 2 weeks for the reply. Glad you have arrived safely. Looking forward to following your progress.
